In the Room
A bed and a shower for $49. The staff we encountered were kind and courteous. Included breakfast was good.
Room was old an run down. Carpet stained, toilet wouldn't stop running, shower/tub drain not working, sink faucet had no drain, some electrical outlets didn't work, plaster cracked, furniture old and dated, poor reception on tv. This is the kind of room you would expect for a $19.99 special. I was told the facilities were being renovated since changing hands less that a year ago. We clearly got one of the "unrenovated" rooms.
This property has changed hands many times in the last 20 years. It is within walking distance to the wvu Colosseum and Stadium and as a result the previous owners just focused on being booked solid on the big sports days. This of course has lead to wild parties and much of the property reflects this treatment. Recently it has changed hand once again (about a month ago). It is now independent and being run by large family. I arrived shortly after 9 pm and after four tries and two hours they found me a room which had been cleaned, which was unoccupied, had WiFi reception. It was a comedy. They had new computer software, which the cleaning staff did not know how to use, which the desk staff was just figuring out and which the management was cursing. And then on top of that it was the first night that they were fully booked, it was worthy of a movie. Once I was settled in my room there were no more difficulties and I spent a very pleasant 3 days. Overall the property is scarred from previous treatment. The current owners are making a serious effort to up grade the property and having watched them for three days I think that they will be successful.
The staff were great especially the ladies at breakfast.
The toilet appeared to be needed fixed - it wobbled everytime we sat on it. Room 110
They are trying to update the rooms. The price was fair for what you got. You get what you pay for there.
The room had had some upgrading but still needed the final touches. The toilet was very loose and tippy and the tub and toilet were too close together and you pretty much had to step around the toilet to get into the tub. There was a piece of wood painted white in the ceiling instead of a ceiling tile and holes in the walls from where they had moved something. I also didn't like being put at the back of the hotel in terms of safety because I was traveling alone. I did have a dog with me but that didn't make me feel any safer. The hotel was no where near full so it wasn't an issue of checking in at 10:30 pm and no rooms in the front safer areas.
Delicious hot continental breakfast! Free room upgrade with jetted tub because it was our anniversary!
Outdoor swimming pool was not available.
Room smelled and was not clean. Staff never asked did I enjoy my stay. Poor quality people who were in the hotel had a barbeque right outside in the parking lot. Reminded me something off of a horror movie. Horrible room curtains falling off the window and limited heat. When I went to check out in the lobby is was well heated and cozy the staff was comfortable. Looks good on the internet but total opposite.
My stay was bad, first I didn't get the room I booked but still got billed the same price. The rooms had a cheap feel and old smell about it. The bathroom was dirty. It was all bad
Just because I have a small dog I'm traveling with doesn't mean I am a dirty person. The" pet friendly" room I was given had stains all over the carpet ,the drapes were dirty, worn & torn, the bed spread was dirty and the bathroom had holes in the wall and a knob missing from a fixture! I would never recommend this place ! The outside looked terrible as well,no landscaping & trimming had been done or cleanup of leaves and brush.
The premises were just unkept and dirty, with cigarette buts around. The lobby of the hotel is unkept and ugly. It is a low class motel with prices of a 4 star hotel. I paid $ 166.00 for one night. It is not even worth $ 60.00 per night.
This place was horrible. The room smelled very bad as if it was moldy. The chest of drawers in the room was propped up with a brick on the floor! The advertisement boasted of wi-fi internet. This was not the case. The bottom line....I Would not want my worst enemy staying in the flea-bag hotel.
wifi internet connection was very very poor
dirty bathroom, a few lights did not work
my complaint would be it sounding like the bugs outside and traffic where in the room with us. Very load, sounded like the door was not shut.
Friendly staff, newly remodeled room, several premium channels on tv Went from 3 nights to 7 weeks for business travel
The rate was good, accomodations were fair, mountain scenery was nice. Bed was comfortable. Room was so-so.
Main door to room felt like it was very Flimsy and not very secure. Our room was located in what seemed like a lower back corner of the Hotel(dead end-no exit, darkened -end of driveway) and felt like it was , as the younger generation say,"Sketchy", meaning in my view , a good place to be mugged. We wondered why we were given this room , when the hotel seemed mostly empty and a room in a less sketchy part of the hotel seemed to be available. Room could use a bit of upgrading, as in paint/plaster repair.
